The Evolution of Bas and Lokes

For over 15 years, we handcrafted leather watch straps that traveled the world, wrapped around the wrists of adventurers, collectors, and everyday icons. It was a journey marked by precision, obsession, and passion. And it changed everything.

We were among the first to custom-make handcrafted leather straps in a multitude of colours, releasing new collections monthly. We helped redefine how the world wore its watches and I’m so proud of that.

But every chapter has its close. And from the end of one comes the beginning of another.

Right now, Bas and Lokes is evolving.

What began at the workbench in a small New York City apartment with my dad, a singular focus on watch straps, has grown into something much bigger. A long-held dream: to design and handcraft some of the best canvas, suede and leather travel and carry goods.

Still small-batch. Still made by hand in Sydney. But now, crafted to carry more than just time.

This new direction is designed for the journey and refined for daily life. Supremely elegant. Plush and luxe, with an edge. For the weekday rush, the weekend away, and everything in between. Bags that move with you, and elevate your everyday.

You may have seen glimpses of bags already on our website — the limited-edition, super-luxe work tote bags that sold out quickly last year, and a small collection of sleek toiletry bags. I always intended to go all in on bags, but life, large volumes of strap orders, and a few personal setbacks pulled me in other directions. Until now.
