Are all your products 100% handmade?

You bet! Every item we make for you is entirely individually hand made by us with our own hands at our small workshop in Sydney, Australia. You are supporting experienced artisans and not big box stores or factories. We really love our work and take pride in the handmade leather goods we create. We put creativity, love, time and care into every item we make. 

How exclusive are your leather goods?

Many of the leather hides we source are one of a kind or made in very small runs. What this means for you is that you have a very unique limited edition item that is not mass produced. For the majority of our products, once we run out of that hide that’s it. It cannot be reproduced. So get ‘em while you can.

Ordering Custom Watch Straps

How do I order a custom handmade watch strap?

To place a custom watch strap order, decide which one you'd like. Next select your choice of lug width size, length size, number of buckle holes and the type of buckle you'd, then click "add to cart". If you are purchasing a pre-made strap just add that strap to your cart then proceed to checkout. We'll contact you within 24 hours on weekdays to acknowledge order receipt.

How do I determine what size watch strap I need?

We make custom handmade leather watch straps in parallel widths 20mm, 21mm, 22 mm, 23mm, 24mm and 26mm in width and in varying lengths. To determine wrist size please refer to the sizes below. Choosing the length is a personal decision. Some people prefer a longer strap with more "tail", others like their straps shorter.  If you have a 6" wrist you may find that the best size for you is a 120/70, which means that 120mm is the long end and 70mm is the shorter buckle side. Some of our straps are usually thicker than factory straps, thus they may wear just a bit shorter. If you have any doubt about which length to get, always choose longer or contact us before purchasing as we do not offer exchanges on custom made straps.

6.0 - 6.5" wrist = 120/70

6.6 - 7.0" wrist = 125/75

7.1 - 7.5" wrist = 130/80 

7.6 - 8.0" wrist = 135/80

8.1 - 8.5" wrist = 140/85

8.6 - 9.0" wrist = 145/90

How long is your lead time on custom made watch straps?  

All our custom handmade leather watch straps are made to order. Your strap will be built and ready to ship within 10 business days from the time your order is received.  Pre-Made straps and all other products will ship on the next business day.

Like a certain watch strap, but prefer a different thread color, pattern or leather?

No problem. We can customize any of the current strap styles in our collection. You can choose any color thread you like, with any stitch pattern you prefer or use the leather of a different strap.

Leather Care

How to care for your Bas and Lokes leather products?

Your item is a natural product and like any leather it is a porous material. We use many types of leather to make our products and they each receive different types of treatments, nevertheless all care should be taken to avoid contact with excessive sweat, water, or perfumes to prevent discoloration and/or damage.

Are your handmade leather watch straps waterproof?

No. Some of our leathers are more resistant to water and moisture than others but they are definitely not water proof and should not be allowed to be saturated with water or exposed to excessive moisture and sweat. 

Shipping, Delivery and Returns

Where do you ship to?

We ship to virtually any address in the world.

How much is shipping?

Our products are built and dispatched from beautiful Sydney, Australia. We ship all over the world via DHL Registered Global Mail for $10 USD. This service is a registered mail service only and does not include tracking but allows us to determine when your package was delivered or if it is still in transit. Within Australia we ship via Australia Post Registered Post.

Can I visit your workshop to have a look?

Sorry, our workshop is private and closed to the public. Our products are only available for purchase online.

When do you ship “Ready to Ship” goods?

All handmade leather items labeled “Ready to Ship” get sent out 24-48 hours after you place your order if placed on a weekday.

How long will my package take to arrive?

Shipments to the United States and European Union usually arrive within 10 business days. To Canada and Asia it can be from 10-15 days. Within Australia packages arrive within 2-3 days. For international shipping, please be aware that it is not uncommon for packages to be held in customs within your own country for several days and on some occasions weeks for processing. That is beyond our control and shipping time also depends on your countries international security concerns and the levels of threat the receiving country may be experiencing.  So please allow up to 30 days for arrival in the worst case scenario. Having said that, most of our packages arrive at their destination in a timely manner. 

What happens if my package gets lost?

In all our time in business, we have only had one package get lost. Thus, this is not something that happens regularly. In the event of a loss, rest assured, your item will be replaced. No worries. 

What is your return policy?

Because many hours of manual labor and the various processes involved in creating your handmade leather carry goods, delays with various countries customs procedures and the expense in shipping orders internationally back and forth, all sales are final. No refunds. When ordering custom watch straps, please, please, please make sure you ask questions if you are not sure about your size as we cannot simply exchange it for another one as our straps are made to order.We will never send you anything that is less than perfect as we take immense pride in our work and have a strong reputation for creating exceptional leather goods, nothing less.  Rest assured, if for some reason your item arrives damaged or there is some major issue, we will work with you to remedy the situation. We guarantee it. Further, we have done our best to make sure that the color you see on your screen is similar to that of the product you will be receiving. However, please keep in mind that due to the fact that colors can vary from monitor to monitor, we cannot guarantee that you will be receiving the exact color you are seeing on your screen. If you question a color, give us a shout before you order so we can give you a better idea of it.
